Default hs10 batteries

hello
i just bought some nimh batteries for a good deal
they are canon batteries 2500mah 4 AA with a charger and a leather case
however on the canon box it says that they are supposed to be used on canon cameras only
will it damage my hs10 if i put these nimh batteries in them or can the hs10 take any nimh batteries
they are in the charger right now waiting for a full charge
thanks in advance
pete

Just make sure that you set the HS10 battery option to NiMh - if you have it set to normal alkaline it won't cause any damage but it will cause it to report that the batteries are flat long before they are.

Just a side note I find that eneloops last longer in my camera than 2700mha MiMh batteries do.

I would seriously invest in a couple sets of eneloops... I've been using mine now for a few weeks and the battery life is quite remarkable
