Default s 5000 or olympus c 4000? Please Help!!

i would buy a digicam, but i'am a novice and i don't know what kind of photo i''ll shot,so i'm searching a balanced camera. fuji have a zoom that attract me but i don't know now if i'll use it. olympus have a better(i think) quality of image and in italy costs 80 $ less then s5000 and have long times of exposition for panoramic night shots. i'm a beginner so i would try all types of shots.i like s5000 for the zoom, but what i have to do to make a good choice?? what do you think ?? i'm sorry for my bad english and thanks to all!

It is not possible to suggest one or the either, based on the data you have provided. You need to outline the specific uses/circumstances you will need/want to use the camera before any suggestions can be offered.

I would not even consider the C720 over the S5000. The olympus camera C740 is of the same ability as the S5000. I have used both the C740 and S5000 and prefer the S5000.
