Default Help Needed with HS20EXR

What is the best way to transfer the photos from the camera to the computer hard drive?

Currently, I'm removing the SD card from the camera and then using a card reader to transfer the images. But this has made the memory card door loose. And I'm worried that if used more often then the door would become free and open up by itself.

So, is transferring the images directly from the camera recommended, as it consumes a lot of juice from the batteries.

I've been doing it like you since I've had the camera and had no signs of looseness. I've do it this way for both cameras I have and have done it for the cameras I've had in the past with no ill effects. I have used the cable method on occasion but I'm more comfortable with the reader method.

i use a 32gb sd card. when im ready, i just transfer and label the folder. i use file manager nautilus in linux, explorer in windows...no software or hardware needed.
20110620-some_other_shots
20110601-dirty_legs
20110621-some_shots
and keep them in a folder. if i use a photo manager, I am carefull the software only copies and not cuts and pastes and destroys images.
