Default moon shots HS-20..

tried moon shot again today with the HS-20 clean sky .

attempted with fz-40 long back and results were amazing hand-held. however never got satisfactory result with HS-20 for moon shot .

tried again today.. posting few attempts and basic post processing done to them..

feedback please and what more can be done ...

thanks guys. the first three are straight out of cam. all captured in manual mode with diffrent shutter, aperture same in all of them.

4th shot a bit of sharpening applied. just a bit and last one edited with an online tool. nutin much . just wanted to check how it came with some fun editing. i liked it so kept it.

@bugsbunny : the shot is good . there is a bit of painting effect.

The sun's direct lighting of the moon's surface in it's full phase means no detail-enhacing shadows. Wait until the moon's in one if it's partial phases and you'll be amazed at the difference. I took this hand-held picture with my HS20 about a month ago and it shows that the camera can indeed capture a nicely detailed moonshot.



I find the only way to get at least a semi-interesting picture of a full moon is to add other elements to it, like this:



This one's not particularly imaginative, but there you have it.
