For those that say a tripod isn't necessary: good luck. Especially, when you mount a TCON-17 on your camera! And, that's what this thread is/was about. And, if you don't have the equipment or have not worked with the equipment, you're guessing a very best.

I have to agree with Gary here, as with using a tripod and even the timer or wireless shutter release, you are taking all the factors for camera shake out. Settings are another matter, as you are in control of your shutter settings.

Why risk the moment.

I am also consent to Gary's opinion. The tripod is quite necessary for this kind of pictures.
And the mine is shipping.

As the threat is for the TCON 17 ...
I'd like to ask what is the true price of this converter and also what is the cheapest and still qualitative tele converter ?

Bugs, I have searched the converter and on Amazon they run from $88.00 up to $222.00. The upsize ring $8.00 to $25.00. Also, do I need to get one(TCON-17) just for the HS20 or will ones for any other camera brand work? I don't want junk! J4c

You'll just need the one. You can get a generic one and it will work just fine.

Default Tcon 17

I can't find it anywhere. B&H and Adorama show not available on the websites.

KEH, eBay, sometime Craigslist. You won't find any new. They haven't been produced for a few years now.

Default size

I have a major concern and think I'll pass on putting a 55mm to 67mm adaptor lens on my S100fs, having to use the 67 to 55 step down adaptor ring.

Default Tcon 14B

Off topic from the Tcon 17, but has anyone used the Tcon 14B? Have been looking at it, although it is less(1.45 X) than the 17, but thought it may do better on my S100fs as it has 67mm front threads and the 14B has a 62mm rear thread. Any thoughts?
