Beautiful pictures, Gary!
Hmmm... the backlit looks more translucent, and shows more detail/depth- yet appear more jumbled due to the shadows of stems/leaves showing through from behind.
The naturally lit pic looks more natural...
just my untrained eye's humble opinion!
