Default Lens cap size help. S4850

Hello, I have a Fuji S4850 and I have lost the lens cap. Cheap replacement can be bought on ebay, just don't know what size to buy. Please help!

Did a google search and couldn't find a definitive answer. Called Fuji support and they didn't know.

Thanks!

From several sources, it looks like 72mm but seems WAY too big. Have you tried measuring it?

Bought a 72mm on ebay for $2 but it is way too big. Going to the dollar store to buy a ruler!

Thanks!

That's what I thought. I'm betting it's 58mm.

Photos available on Amazon do not give a diameter marked on the lens, which likely means it is not threaded, and will not take standard lens caps. Most likely, you will have to go to Fuji for the proper cap.

Good to know. Almost wasted another $2 on ebay.

Thanks!

Was the original lens cap on the lens or the "barrel"?

There will be grooves for the lens cap, but not threads for a filter. That's the measurement you want. It should be something standard, like 52mm, 55mm or 58mm.

Some barrels are an odd size but a mm smaller than oem should work.

You might be able to find the size of the original lens cap in the user manual.
