What are you using it for? Go for the S7000!

I will use it for vacation pictures , but also for indoor sport and family events .
I need good quality shoots at moderate indoor light with fast shooting speed for swimming competitions .

hi,

I had to make the same decision as you have to.
Well, I ask my friend that have one F717 if I could try his camera for a while and I used it for a week and I have to tell that is a great camera... but even havenīt tryed the s7000 I went for it. Now what I can say about it is that I made the right choise, S7000 take sublimes 6 megapixels pictures, has all the features I wanted and has I much much better design, much compact that the F717.
The only thing that F717 beats s7000 is in the optical zoom but to gets it you need to pay carrying its weight and size.

Hope I can help you.

Excellant night time street shots, and night skies, and late evening shots over water and beach - all I wanted and some more from the Fuji S7000!

last time i'm also in the same frustration like you... trying to choose between f717 and s7k. But lastly i went for the s7k instead. The f717's picture quality is top notch, with excellent details and colour range without high level of noise. But it reallty sux with the slow refresh rate of the LCD and also the annoying red laser pattern. Do you think it is polite if you aim lasers to your boss' face during a night party?
