Default Hotshoe Flash for S7000

I want to put a hotshoe flash on my S7000 but I cannot find which type of brand will work with the camera. Anyone have an idea of which ones are compatible?

You can use any non camera deticated flash, otherwise it need's to be modified. I bought the Vivitar 730 deticated with a Nikon shoe, and only needed to unscrew the bottom ( 4little screws) and cut the one blue wire going to the extra contact for the Nikon. The reason for getting this one was that it's a very powerfull flash and quality for the money ( 69.- US$). If you don't cut the wire it will still work, but with less ( maybe half) power.

Default Thanks for the tip

That sounds like a great deal. I'll have too look and see if I can find one for that price. Thats a lot less than most I have looked at and it seems like a simple modification to do.

I got it from B & H photo in NYC, a very good and reliable company.
