Default Comparing compression for different cameras.

At http://www.manhoc.co.uk/misc/comprat.xls I have placed a spreadsheet with comparisons of compression ratios for an S20 Pro, an S602 and an S7000.

It makes interesting reading and makes the new S20 pro look good.

What I have done is to normalise all the file sizes so you can see how much compression there is per 1mp. Thus you can compare directly the compression from a 12mp file to a 3mp one.

If you feel my maths is wrong, please reply here. If you want other cameras added, just post the information. As I find out more info about other cameras, I will update this spreadsheet.

have fun

I think the S2 Pro can only shoot in one resolution of RAW - 12MP. How did you get the 6MP result?

Its TIFF - not RAW. I'll make it clearer in the spreadsheet next time I update it.

Thanks
