Default Finepix FX2800Z Heating Up

I have just acquired an FX2800Z, my very first digicam and found that the bottom of the battery compartment warms up when the camera was in operation. Is this normal or should I get it checked out?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

one,
Could be type/quality of batteries. Are you using rechable? new? are they "all" good? cams can get them warm quick if not right.

Thanks guys. At first, using the Energiser alkaline batteries it was warmer than the current set of fully charged GP rechargeables.

I thot the heating up meant power leakage, wasting energy to heat up the camera casing instead. Well, call that an added digicam feature, giving a little warmth comfort for the hand holding it in a cold winter night, to say the least.

Cheers.
