I think you just set a record for the longest reply delay...let's see 7/27/04 to 4/7/06...hmmm...that's about 16 weeks short of 2 years - way to go!

I love this camera, it is very good, I enlarge up to A3 (297 x 420) and have won competitions withe results, have recently purchased 9500 but at the moment the 602 is still my favourite, if you get one get an extension tube and put a skylight filter on it, protects the mechanism and makes it easier to hold.

Have had a 602z since Oct 2002. Very reliable, no bugs,... The dpreview is quite accurate in its assessment.

As for batteries- freshly chargedNicads will hold a charge for many weeks. Fresh NiMHs will not hold a charge on the shelf or in camera; in a matter of a few weeks need recharging. NiMH do like charging [no memory issues]. i.e. they to be topped off
