I can give examples where assembled products have come apart, or screws have worked loose and dropped inside after a few thousand miles diesel car driving, or complex equipment left in the boot stopped working after a long journey. I guess 5 cylinder motors might be kinder.

Is that an Audi 5 (do they still make that) or a Volvo? :P but you're right a camera is a delicate instrument and one must not abuse it. I've taken pictures with mine with the car moving and on speed boat so that's not a problem either.

It's not the short period vibration which caused my 'bad experiences' it was sustained vibration. So if I was driving diesel regularly on long journeys, with my cam in the car, that's when I might have second thoughts.
