I have mine going on three days and am very pleased with the picture result. The picture was taken at 2272 X 1704, ISO-64, F/4, 0-Compensation.

I'm not able to see your photo, Joel.

Maybe it's me.

I'm glad to hear from someone who is actually using an S5100

and is pleased with it. I feel just like a kid this year, counting

the days til xmas (forty). I went and got myself a 55 mm

UV filter, just so I'ld have something to hold in my hand for

the next forty days. I've read the manual through (several times

now, that's the good thing about having to wait, otherwise I

probably never would have read it through thoroughly even once)

and I notice, early on, they suggest you keep the adaptor ring

on all the time, to protect the lens barrel. So, I thought, why not

go a step further and keep a UV on the ring to seal the barrel

right up. Since you actually have an S5100 right in hand,

what do you think Joel? (ie. of keeping the adaptor and a UV on it)

I hope I get to see your picture sometime.

Regards,

Swampy.

Perhaps, for now, you could use the attachment "Browse" button

instead of the "Insert Image" icon, though of course, you would

have to resize and compress your image down to the 250K limit.

When you keep in mind that most people will look at your image

on-screen and unzoomed, a 250K JPG will support about as much

detail as can be perceived that way. Cold comfort, I know, when,

particularly in this context, a fellow really wants people to pan

across it at full resolution and assess its true quality. But...

then you're talking about multi-megabyte files, and finding a

reliableplace to host many of those for free might be difficult.

Yes, Sir.

I got it this time, all 841,008 bytes of it.

It's a nice picture, Joel.

Sharp. Good color. Nice lighting.

I can see why you're pleased with it.

Thanks for posting it.

regards,

Swampy.

Finally got an S7000 just about 2 months ago, very pleased to have a camera which will take an external flash. Thanks for all of the input.
