I have been a member of this forum for many months now but i have only recently started to post contributions, Here is why!!. The bias towards Canon has to be seen to be believed:shock:it is almost as great as the ignorance shown to Fuji and their products. Here in the UK Fuji has been the number 1 seller for many years, those of us who have used Fuji cameras can testify to their superiority in most respects. Fuji have top machines at ALL sectors of the market!!. I am sick to death of reading people in these forums slagging off superccd sensors:blah:.especially as they are VASTLY superior to anything other makers can offer, its just plain envy. so all you Fuji owners out there stand up for your camera and be proud of the fact that you own the best value, best specified best performing cameras on the planet!!

The Planet? I'm sorry but every place on the planet isn't constantly covered with fog (or it's raining). Maybe that's the reason Fuji is the number one seller in the UK (& Seattle )

Really? Have you compared images from other camers? Fuji SuperCCD senors in comparison are noisy, and produce images that are vastly inferior to those produced by the digital SLR's.

Fuji don't help themselves by seriously over sharpening the images and then aggressively compressing - resulting in considerable visable jpg artifacts.

Perhaps you should remove your blinkers and realise thatother manufacturers DO produceimages that are better - and they are now starting to do so at a price that makes fuji's camera seem expensive in comparison.

Actually, Fujis super CCD used in it's S2 Pro DSLR is considered superior by most fashion & print professionals for it's excellent detail & color rendition (the jury is still out on the new S3 Pro). It's their lower end consumer/prosumer cameras that suffer from poor image quality.

Try almost any review on http://www.dcresource.com/or http://www.megapixel.netor http://www.imaging-resource.com/or http://www.dpreview.com/

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fuji...000/page14.aspand http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujis602z/page13.aspare good examples of the 'quality' of a superccd sensor

Nice that link does not exist and drops you back to the main Fuji page. Fuji site is a good place to go for unbiased reviews of Fuji cameras.

If you fix the link so it actually work you get to a "pseudo review page", those are 1 paragraph sales blurbsfrom stores and vendors selected by Fuji for inclusion on their site, not in-depth reviews

For me this issue helped made my decision: our FujiFilm rep, the account guy whosold all our film and supplies beforethe company's big switch to digitallast year, wouldtalk about nothing elseexcept how great thenew Fuji sensor and digital cameras were. I recently met him again and guess what he is using to shoot personally, yup you guessed it a Nikon.

As said before, their high end S1/2/3 look to be excellent cameras, their P&S don't seem to make the cut, and yes I did have an oldFuji P&S, replaced it last year with a Nikon P&S. To me my oldFuji's images always looked soft.
