Default Fuji 3800 vs Minolta Dimage F100

I am considering the Fuji 3800, very seriously but some posters have said the 6x zoom is worthless because pictures blurr. Is that the case. I am also considering the Minolta Dimage F100 4 megapixel camera. Anyone have any comments, suggestions? Thanks, in advance.

Well if the zoom did not work Fuji would not put it on the cam?
As I understand; the way to take a pic is to hold the cam still when you shoot the pic?

I have ordered my 3800, should be here today!
Oh, found 128mb xD card for 59+5 shipping.. Not to bad.

I will post what I find with the (if it arives today) Fuji Finepix 3800, by sunday.

At 230mm the pics should not blur. Anthing up to 280mm should be fine unloess you're a nervous wreck.

I have the 3800. It is a great camera for the money. Pictures have been sharp without modification. The zoom has not caused any pictures to blur.

I have used the 3800 for a couple of weeks now and I've taken more than 200 pictures.
I also have the 2X tele-converter and the 0.5X wide angle converter lenses, and I've experimented with them both. No problems with telephoto or macro photography.
This camera is absolutely fantastic. The photos are "eye boggling".
If you have, and are good with, Photoshop (plus some plug-ins) you can get excellent jobs done. Things that were unthinkable a year ago with cameras in this price range.
By the way, any camera will produce blurred images if you don't hold it steady while taking the shots.

Per one of my posts in a FinePix 2800 forum, my camera (FinePix 2800Z) seems to select a higher shutter speed (if possible under the lighting conditions) when you zoom toward tele. It seems to try to get shutter speed up to at least 1/400 sec under normal daylight conditions. When zooming back toward wide angle, it seems to reduce shutter speed slightly and pick a smaller aperture. I'm not sure if they kept the same principle in the 3800's electronics.
