Camere is 2 weeks old and today when I took a pic it takes the pic and turns off where I have to reset it to come back on. The lens does'nt go in until I reset the camera. I tried movie mode and that works so batteries are ok. Any thoughts? The pictures come out ok it just turns off after I take each pic.
thanks

I'm not sure if our problems are the same, but they seem like they are. My s5100 was shutting off after each picture and I checked with the troubleshooting tips in the manual. They suggested changing the batteries and that has done the trick.

It is the batteries. I also have a Fuji A330 at work that does the same thing. Keep in mind that the movie mode on the 3100 does not use the flash so it requires less battery power.

I now use NiMh batteries (2000 mah) that I bought off eBay, these last a lot longer and the camera is ready a lot faster between pictures.
