Default finepix 2800z as a pc camera

I just bought a finepix 2800z I love the camera, but I have used the camera for a webcam using picture hello and also net meeting, and today with video impressions and the pix is to darkand there seems to be no way to lighten up the exposure. If I use my old camcorder the pix is very nice in the ambient light, but the 2800 is very dark.any one have this experience with the 2800z or is something wrong with the camera??/Any help welcome

You get the same results with both PC Cam and with Video mode. The shutter speed necessary to give adequate frames-per-second is too high for low light operation. A small flood lamp in a goose-neck lamp base would work if it was close to the subject. I think the shutter speed for both modes is probably about 1/10 sec at f/2.8.
