where did you get the driver for the camera to use it as a webcam?

when i plug mine in, it asks for the a driver, and i can't find one.

to solve your problem, you have to start a videoconference, not webcam, for the 5500

Hi, I have a S7000. To use my camera as web cam, if i have to. First i change the connection type in the camera menu to 'PC CAM'. Than i can use it as a web cam.

Ithink in your camera its probably the same way. Try to find it.

Anyway i think you shouldn't use your expensive cameraas a webcam. Buy a cheap webcam, its better that wey

bah, it seems you have to install their stupid software to get it to work..

it does solve the problem, but it's a bit poor that you have to install all the unwanted junk as well..

i was trying to use my s7000 as a web cam to record "lizards" using Mat Lab for my research (cause the image quality is much better than a web cam). couldn't do it, and i could with a regular web cam. anyone knows any software to help me?

get the usb driver for the camera. installl it.then switch to webcam usb mode in the 3rd menu tab in setup of the camera (for the s5500, anyway).turn off.connect via usb.turn on.windows should see the device. a usb video device virtual disk will appear in windows explorer or my computer, under the hard disk, cdroms etc. click on it it will initialize and a frame will appear in the right-side pane. also irfanview works similarly by choosing acquire. this is easy but how can i record real-time onto the hard disk,i haven't figured it out yet.g'luck
