Well, now there is always an "unless" that comes into play. For instance, if you are printing from your full sized images, and using a printer feature like mine, "Scale to fit media", then the resolution is going to be compensated during the printing process. And, if you are just printing 4x6 prints, you may not see the difference. And, if you are like me and use a lab to do your printing, their equipment may be able to compensate. Kodak EasyShare (formerly Ofoto) indicated that they could print a 20x30 inch print from a 1200x1600 2 MP image that I uploaded to them. I'm skeptical, to say the least. So, as you can see, there are a lot of variables that come into play. I think the best thing for you to do is print several different images that meet different resolution and size specifications, and compare them.
