I am looking for a 55 mm circular polarizer for my S5100. I'm out of my league when it comes to this aspect of digital photography. I have read good things about B&W and Hoya lens filters and these are in my price range. Any suggestions, tips, advice will be greatly appreciated!

Save your money and get a Linear Polarizer. No need for a Circular. I got a Quantaray PL. It works great but I had to look at a couple (in store) because the outer ring seemed way too loose on some. It should be free and smooth but not rattle.

I'll second that. These guys are great. I screwed up my order (ordered a 52mm instead of 55mm) and they fixed it without a problem.

I will say though that I got my cir. pol. from buy.com because I needed to pad an order. I'm happy with it. Priced simillar to the camerafilters prices, maybe a little higher.
