Nice pics. Have you noticed any purple fringing on the long end of the zoom & does the lense rattle. The reason for asking is some reviews mentioned both & others have not. I am considering buying one for my first digital camera.

I have had about 7 different digital cameras and every one of them has had a "loose" lens. They all will move if touched or rattled. The Fuji lens is completely normal and stable. I have not noticed any CA or purple fringe. The S5100 is an excellent choice for a first digital camera. it will serve you well for years down the road.

I have a fuji S5100 and even with the TCON-17 I see no fringing.

i just bought a fuji S5100 here is a pic at full zoom i was almost 3/4 of a mile away when i took it. It was a hazy afternoon thats why it looks so hazy but other than that not bad
