The main difference between your S9500 and my current Canon Powershot S30 is expressed in portraits, macros and night shots.

In landscapes with good light,I always think it's difficult for a high-end camera whatever good it is to really impress in comparison with more humble camera.

Gaul,

I think its a good thing if your not happy with the product you bought you should do something about it. My new s9500 had some dead pixels in the LCD display. I went back to the shop and they swapped it without any problem. You can also do nothing about it and let it continue to bug you.

my indoor photo and bike photo were only resized, no further editing done.

below a portrait of my wife in the backgarden, taken this afternoon. resized, made b/w, litte added contrast, little higher gamma level, cropped.

I took the photo about 4 meters away, little bit zoomed in. in portrait mode.

No, I have not yet bought a replacement for my Canon Powershot S30 or my Film Canon EOS 500 N.
The experience of this buyer made me wary of buying the S9500 too early, that's all:
