The only point I would make is if it was going into a competition would be to clone out the twigs/branches on the left. They add nothing to the shot but distraction.

Loverly place you live in.

I didn't realize we were worrying about competition quality photos here. I included them in the image mainly to illustrate the sharpness (or non-sharpness) of the lens. I will put a little more thought into it before I make another submission.

Hey I did use the word IF. I constantly see competition entries and the judges without fail always pull people up for that sort of thing. The reasoning being that they just distract you from the main subject, personally I agree in most cases. After all if you want to stand and admire a view would you purposely stand behind a tree to do it given the choice?

Andy,

I apologize for my abrupt response to your suggestions. It was definitely uncalled for. I appreciate your insight on the matter. And I appreciate hearing from someone who has had experience with competitions. That is something I have never entered, and it isn't likely that I ever will. But it's nice to gain some insight from someone who has had that experience. Thank you again. Hope you have a nice holiday season.

Hi Everyone

I just got the S9000. This is my first DSLR-like camera. I had a S50 Canon which I gave it away to my nephew.I read in this Forum that some s9000 users have had problems with their camera.

Can someone suggest me a test to check ifmy camera is defective or not? :??:?

How can I take picture in very low light?

Here are my observations about the camera:

Up to this point I took pictures in Auto mode which are good. When I use the Natural mode I get very noisy pictures ( I tried only INDOOR though, It is feezing in Canada now to go out for photography ).

Anti-Blur sometimes produces blurred picture too. I suspect that I am not using the camera in the right way.

I real appreciate your replies.
