Default Help - FinePix 4800z Lens Stuck

The lens on my 4800 is stuck in the extened position and won't retract into the camera upon shitting it off. I can still view images in the "play" mode, but when I switch to record, the error message appears on the screen. Not sure if I should send the camera in, or if this is a common problem with a quick remedy. I love the camera otherwise. Ideas?

Thanks! Paul

A similar problem has developed on my 4800z. The lens has stuck in the retracted position. Did you send your camera to be fixed? What was the outcome?

Thanks!
Leanne

lol... I think if I did that it would finish it off. I opted for sending it back to Fuji instead.

Default 4800 Lens Stuck

The camera is gathering dust in a closet. I thought about taking it apart but sending it to fuji is probably best. I'm beyond the warranty period and I'm just concerned about the cost.

I'ev just got my camera back, they've replaced part of the lens and the front of the camera. It apparently took 15 labour hour to fix. Mind was still under guarantee so I don't know how much that would have cost to fix.
