Ithink you will find that the S9500 compares well with the FZ30 but completely outclasses the FZ20. The FZ20 has electronic controls rather than a manual zoom and has very noisy images beyond ISO 100. The only plus is that the longer telephoto end is image stabilized. If the S9500 is actually cheaper than the FZ20 then there is no contest, I would buy the Fuji.

BTW the comparison is between the S9500 and the FZ30, which now has the manual zoom and higher resolution.
