Has anyone seen any "legitimate" reviews yet of the FinePix S9000? All I've seen so far are previews.

Any assistance would be appreciated as I am going to buy either the Fuji or the Panasonic Z30 this week.

Hello Jonlouch & All,

I just read this first hand report by a new S9500 owner.

It provides some useful feedback about this new camera:

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=15175159

When will the S9000 be released in the U.S.????????

Regards, Nicholas

Hi jonlouch:-)

I had the same choice and I've ordered the Fuji, mainy because of the low noise, I have a 2mp Panasonic FZ1 and have to say it beats my previous 5mp Minolta 7Hi hands down, the quality of the images from a 2mp camera are unbelievable, have a look in the Panasonic forum further down for more info.

My choices were, Panasonic FZ5, 5mp, excellent image quality and the same 12x optical zoom Leica lens as I have nowbut no low light gain-up of the lcd which I could do with as being almost housebound I take a lot of indoor shots , Panasonic 8mp FZ30, lcd problem fixed but sample shotshave quite a bit of noise at ISO200 and above. Fuji S9500, shorter zoom range than the Panasonics but low noise &manual zoom.

There now is a review at cnet.com. It gives the camera a 7 out of 10.

Commented on the good noise performance!

Look at the item 'And another review', down thelist, started by Dykx.

I got the there mentioned s9500 test report form Amateur Photographer by mail, six pages, and it's a nice review.

I have received 2 Fuji S900 on seperate shipments in December and both cameras are taking very poor quality shots. We are an Apple Dealer in San Antonio.* We have returned both cameras but I cannot find anyone who has had a similar problem. We received Z1's and they take great pictures. The S9000 is blurry and grainy, even on a tripod, flash or no flash.I am hoping that this is just a bad batch. Surely people would not accept this as being an acceptable 9 Megapixal camera.*Neither Fuji or distribution seem to know of any problems which makes me wonder if this is just the way the S9000 takes pictures.
