Hi, been a proud Fuji 9500 user for a couple of weeks now, but I've noticed lots of little white pixels out. I noticed it when I accidently took a picture with the lens cap on.

Here is a picture with the exposure digitally raised to highlight the problem.

Exposure time 1/50's
ISO 100
f8/2.8

Have I got dead pixels?

This isthe unedited version, a few can be seen to the middle of the right.

Can anybody else take a picture with the lenscap on and share it?

Any info or advice welcomed!

Quite normal for digital cameras, usually called hotpixels. I've been taking moon shots all of last week andI don't see them unlessI adjust the brightness level too much in post editingwhich means I've gone too far anyhow. I never see them in my night shots unless I do that.I wouldn'tworry about it unless you see them in normal picture levels.

I did the same and sawonly black- no dead pixels, even with magnification. I have a new S5200, so maybe this will change with time.

I justwondered - if you take another shot with the lens cap on, do the white specks show up in the same places? If they do, then you probably have dead pixels.
