Hello all,

Having recently bought the s9500 I am relatively happy with the camera and have taken some half-way decent photos. . .but. .

I have a magicstor 2.2gig microdrive and a Fuji 1gig XD card. . on there own both cards work fine. . but if I try to put both in the camera at the same time the camera will not recognise the XD card - giving me the "card error" message with the XD selected. . the microdrive works fine?

Has anyone else experienced this . . is it a power issue or just an incompatibility between cards??

Thanks for any advice. .

All the best

I have noticed this with my magicstor and fuji 512mb xd. I have just resigned myself to the fact that sometimes cheap products (magicstor) are cheap for a reason. I am happy that it works on its own as it appears not to be the most compatable microdrive.

While I agree with your thoughts on the Magicstor, it is not a microdrive as that is a trademarked name owned by IBM/Hitachi. While the Magicstor is the same formfactor (1" CF compatable drive), it as well as the Segate and Western Digital 1" drives cannot be called microdrives and are not maketed as such. I have been using a 2gb Hitachi microdrive along with xD cards in my S7000 for over 18 months with no problems or errors.
