Just wondered how many users are findingthisfunction useful? According to the manual it's good for bright sunny days (not many of those around these parts at the moment).

I just had a go at using it and I found it very difficult to use and I couldn't "see" any advantage to having it at all. I tried it through both the EVF and using the screen but it just didn't help me at all. The magnified image wasn't of a high enough quality unless I'm missing something obvious?

Any views/comments/suggestions?

(the header should say S9500/9000)

If you scroll toward the bottom of the link I'm providing, you can see the couple of examples that Proton submitted. Maybe this will give you some ideas.

jphess,

I think you misunderstood my original posting or perhaps I didn't make it clear. I'm asking for feedback regarding the Picture in Picture facility that supposedly aids focussing on the S9500.

The magification in the viewfinder - it's a bit fuzzy but can help in some conditions. It's not perfect.

vrem,

You are right. I must have completely spaced out on this one. Sorry.

there is no substitute for an optical viewfinder in this regard, otherwise I prefer having the EVF over optical.
