Hi MT, if I may make a few observations, nice photos, good subject, the first one is fine.. But.
For landscape, if possible use landscape rather than portrait framing.
Unfortunately, the sky is overexposed and far too much of it. Aim the lens more to the foreground, like you've done in hte first photo, excluding more sky, the exposure metering also will improve with that. (explore the 'rule of third' in composing, framing subjects).

If there is a lot of "dead" space, you can always crop it out. Like too much sky for example.
Anyway,apologies forbeing so critical, but I hope that this will lead to better pictures for you.

Good suggestions. Here are the same two photos re-formatted to a lanscape mode with the sky minimized. Does that look better?
