In this weeks issue of Amatuer Photographer (14th January 2006), there is a nine page comparative review of the S5600 together with Knonica Minolta's Dimage Z6, the Olympus SP-500 Ultra-Zoom, and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 written by technical writer, Angela Nicholson.

It's a very good comparative review, well written and researched, covering aspects such as lenses, ISO ratings, image quality, image stabilisation and ant-shake, handling and performance.

The line up of A3 enlargement images placed side by side and taken with all four cameras showing the loss of detail at the various ISO settings is interesting as are the comparative colour quality images.

Each camera is finally rated by:
  • Specification [/*]
  • Build [/*]
  • Handling [/*]
  • Performance[/*]
Anyone thinking of getting any of the above cameras would do well to have a read of Angela's article.
