Hello All,

After seeing the new cameras from PMA and not feeling confident with my repaired S9000's Command Dial, I decided to trade it in with some other gear for a Sony R-1.

I enjoyed your comments on this Fuji forum, thank you.

The s9000 is a great camera. But I felt the R-1 would suit me better for my people pics.

See you on the Sony Forum.

One of my first R-1 shots:

Thanks Nic, You just won me a private betI had going with Syd. I predicted you were going to get rid of your 9000 for a different camera, about three months ago.:-)

Don't quite understand your rational though, the 9000's great for people pics.

Anyway good luck with the Sony - I enjoyed your energetic enthusiasm for the 9000.

I read this in a review of the Sony R-1 . . .

"The menu of the Sony Cybershot R1 is simple to operate as far as navigation is concerned, and settings can be easily changed via the small rigid joystick in the middle of the command dial."

A joy stick in the middle of the Command Dial. Sounds Ominous

Hi Steve Syd & All,

Years ago while playing a game of pool, I learned two of the spectators placed a side bet on my game. I lost the game on purpose to deny the guy who picked me from winning his bet.

I traded my S9000 mainly for the reason that each time I picked it up, I had the slight worry if the Commad Dial would fall off again. It distracted me from my photography.

Another reason is PMA indicated no one else would make their version of Sony's R1 chip ( as they did with Sony's F-828 chip ) .

So I went with Sony's larger chip and top rated lens.

If Fuji makes a Large sensor prosumer, with selectable levels of in camera noise reduction, you may very well see me back in the Fuji Forum.

Thank you again, Nicholas
