Any advice on how the fuji 5200 performs in lower light conditions? I am trying to decide between the Fuji or Canon S2 IS/ S3 IS.

I have seen some excellent images of birds with the Fuji but not sure how it would perform in lower light at 380mm or over 500mm (with tele converter). Would IS (as in the canon) be better, bringing the shutter speed down and avoiding high ISO and noise?

I will be taking photoes of otters. at late dawn, early dusk and in the shade.

Any advice welcome!

cheers julian

I vote Fuji. The IS will not help steady a moving bird in any light. A faster shutter speed @ higher iso will. The noise is not bad at all @ iso 400 & even 800.
