Nice job! The flatness of the light from your flash kind of lowers the impact of the image, but the colors are quite nice.

yeah, i was using only the pop-flash. I was at the balcony of the hotel and saw this flower. It was raining and no sun because of the solar eclipse last week.

Thanks for the comments.:-)

here is another version of that flower using super macro without enough lighting, about 2 inches away from the object. No PP.

Very nice pic, samfcomjr

It looked a little soft so I put a high pass sharpen to add a little "ummph". Hope you don't mind.

Keep up the good work!

Nice shot of the hibiscus! Well composed.

Did you have a black background or has it been extracted and put onto a black canvas? Please correct me if I am wrong, only on really close inspection does it appear cut out.

shadowlies, for my own personal taste, I think you applied too much sharpening to that flower. I think the image lost its delicate feeling. But then, I guess that is the nice thing about photography. We can do whatever appeals to us.

shadowlies,

B/G was 'photoshopped' to black (does not show when printed @ 300 pixel/inch)

Pop Photo Nature 1st prize January, 2006 !!!!!!!!!!

Shadowlies, i don't mind whatever you'll do with the pix, I was just trying to get some inputs here of what to do with my shots. I took some flower pix and collecting it. I think I will really learn a lot here. Here is my other collection taken at Queen's Park, Bangkok Thailand. No pp.
