Default S602 Manual Focus

I am trying to learn my new S602. I am having a problem with MF. I make sure the focus selector on the side of the camera is switched to MF, but when I try to focus with the focus ring, I don't see a lot of change in the pic.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try adjusting the small wheel to the left of the viewfinder. This will compenstate for different vision. Also, use the focus check button(the button that is left side to BACK button). IMO, Fuji should have used at least a 250,000 pixel lcd, but i guess they were pinching pennies. :-)

Switch on the central area magnifier - that's the small button just above the OK cluster. I'm afraid it's not like a split image rangefinder, due to the low res. of the EVF. Also, you've got those 2 yellow pointer things at the bottom of the display - but there's a lot of hysterysis it seems.

I've found the Manual focus quite easy to do.
You can tell if your at the end of the focus range if it stops the quite clicking noice, and if the image isnt better when you get to one end, try going in the other direction.
You also have the manual auto-focus button, so if you cant get it yourself, just click the little button in the middle of the MF/AF switch and it'll have a go itself.
You've not got it on one of the Macro modes have you? It took me a while to realise what they were actually doing, and i was really impressed with it!
