I thinking of buying this external flash for my S9500. http://www.jessops.com/search/viewpr..._SEARCH=N&

My question is, can I just slot thi onto the hot shoe and will it work ok. Is it really that simple or am I not that lucky.

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, it should work just fine. The only thing you have to do on the camera is go into the setup menu and set the external flash option. And then you will probably have to take a number of test shots to find out what settings will give you the best results. I think you'll find that you'll get the best results with the manual mode because you need to set the shutter speed and aperture to match the guide that will be on the flash unit. So it isn't really a simple "plug and play" operation, but it really isn't that difficult either.
