Thanks for the comments. The first photo was taken from what is called the Government Bridge and the second photo was taken from an elevated pedestrian bridge officially known as the Sky Bridge but known among tax payers as the "Bridge to Nowhere". I posted other flood pictures in the Kodak forum:

Follow on. That was our first round of high water in early May. We now have our second round of high water and the water is up to the green light on that sign and only about a foot of the pedestrian sign pole is showing. We were quite fortunate compared to many other places in Iowa both in terms of severity and the skill of our public works dept. designing and erecting levees.
