About every night when at the NM place these guys visit and enjoy some peanut handouts. The raccoons are too friendly and the skunks have always behaved themselves while keeping their distance. Have seen one large skunk with the black/white pattern reversed, but no pictures of her.

This may be one time that the red eye reflex should not be dealt with in post-processing--I like the look of them in this situation.

Keep trying - I'd like to see that one.

Much to my surprise skunks come in many different colors and many are kept as pets and shown. I can understand the pet aspect if equipped for them and I guess a skunk show is the next human step. Imagine a contest to see who has the best skunk just like a cat or dog show. It happens!

Just one question: did you use a flash on the skunk?

Yes, a flash was used and the skunk didn't seem to notice. In a larger version you could more easily see the tapetal reflex.
