first and foremost, the group of people praying are not portrayed for any humorous effect and their religious devotaion is admirable. it was almost impossible to achieve the effect i was after here without a crowd of this size and in a pose of this nature- so again, i want to repeat i have no intention to show any disrespect- i WISH that i could have found a similar foreground shot of Americans in a similar pose and in similar numbers for that is the point of this photo- the almost religious sensiblilities by americansin their feelings for all things "gasoline".

i'm american and to some degree could just as easily be in this photo.

it is strictly food for thought.

it's a shame we can't harness the power potential of "hubris"!! what an abundent and remarkably renewable resource (i'm assuming it's primarily methane, but not entirely sure), why government alone could make us independant of all other forms of energy overnight!!
