Is there a "right" size to crop an image or is it fine to crop away till you get what you want? I've been trying to keep my images proportioned to the original size, think it's 3504 x 2336,but I find it hard sometimes cause there's just too much leftover unwanted image. If I crop down even more I get too close to the subjet. Guess next time Ishould pay a little more attention and compose my shots betterbefore I fire away. Thanks!

Yes, doing the composition correct in-camera will make your life easier.
I can only think of a few cases where croping to a specific size or ratio matters. - When you're printing. - When you want to have multiple images side by side. In that case, it usually looks better if they are all the same size. So technically cropping so it looks good is fine... but there are a few cases where it can matter. Eric |
