I have this one from Case Logic: http://www.caselogic.com/slr_compute...?modelid=57080
I like it because it holds a good bit along with my laptop. For longer trips, it can carry just about anything I need for a photo vacation. I bought this one and while I don't like the sling style, I find myself using it more than the larger backpack. http://www.naneupro.com/products.mdv?p=mo-e Finally, I have a couple of these Optech covers that I keep on the camera most of the time. One is for the normal lens, and one is for a longer zoom lens. These are really handy for the times when I just want to carry the camera with me without making a production out of it. http://optechusa.com/product/detail/...;CATEGORY_ID=5 Have fun shopping! So what do you think would happen to the camera if you fell on your back while the camera was in the backpack? Do you think any of these backpacks would protect the camera well enough that it wouldn't become damaged?

I have hiked an accumulated two to three thousand miles through the Rockies, the Appalachian mountains, the Sierra Nevada, and even more in flatter country, and never fallen on my back witha backpack on. I'm not saying it can't happen, but you tend to put your weight forward with a pack on, and you are lots more likely to pitch forward and go down on your knees (I do have some scars on my knees that we won't discuss further
![]() Most well-made bags and backpacks will protect from damage from normal bumps and thumps. I don't think there are any that you are going to want to take off road that will protect against a serious attempt to damage it. There are also backpacks that include a chest harness for the camera. I have a Tamrac model with that feature, and I like it a bunch. |

I have the NanuPro urban backpack from 2 years ago and they have since changed it I paid $89 and the newer version is $200 plus. It has a laptop compartment but has a"lid" or inner pad that protects the top of the camera compartment.. It would absorb quite a bit of shock. I am pretty sure the Quantaray does too. If you have a Ritz camera around check it out. A bag or backpack is really a personal choice like everyone has said.
