I'd love to see that too!!
BTW, Kudos on a well thought out site. This has been a great resource for me as I researched a new purchase. I actually just bought the Fisher FVDC1 at Sears on clearance for $319. My impressions are below Pros: Image quality seems to be pretty good. Once I figured out how the AF worked (you can hold it down 1/2 way, and it will show a little bounding box around what it is focusing on, if that is not what you wish to focus on, just retry.) I am by no means a photographer, and there seems to be tons of options buried in the menus. Having a camcorder and a camera in one is what I wanted, and this seems to be a reasonable compromise. It is pretty idiot proof, and easy to control with one hand. Cons: Video quality is only OK. Its not that bad really, but I have been doing NLE with several Digital 8 cameras and its not as good as that. When recording videos, you can hear the AF and zoom motors. It gets annoying. PRICE! I would never have paid $800 for this thing. For $319 it seems pretty reasonable. Conclusion, I am waiting to hear about the Optio MX. If it sounds even slightly better than this, I am selling this on ebay (or returning it to sears) and getting the Optio MX.... |
