I think this just happensmore often with the A70 than with other cameras. My brother has a Sony DSC-P71 and he has NEVER had this problem. Not once in 2 years. And heALWAYS uses the flash, even when he's taking photos outside in broad daylight.
Maybe it's because the flash is not as close to the lens on the P71. |

Nick... That's possible. However, the flash on my latest camera is extremely close to the lens, and it very rarely occurs with me.

I see you have the Minolta G500. Well yes, the flash is very close to the lens on that one. Just as close as it is on my friends G400 and he doesn't have this problem either.
So maybe that's not the problem. |

Well I tried searching for words like "dust", "spots", "orbs" and "bubbles" in the forums and I found a lot of threads about this. Most of them mention the A70 and other Canon AX0-cameras.
So I'm definately going to sell my A70 and buy something else. |

I had the a20 a while ago and had the same problem with white spots. It is just dust in the air. It only happens in low light situations where the flash fires (in my case anyway).

Only seems to happen with some point and shoots...mostly from Canon and Kodak. I've tried reproducing it with my higher end Olympus, but just can't.

Did a search on google and it seems like it happens with Sonys Cybershot P-series too. Damn... I was going to buy a P93 but now I don't know.

although it happens so few times, i think you should think about canon a75 and higher cameras.because it has so many manual settings.
style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I now think that the reason of that dusts are some particles in the air.Look at the fotos now i am sending.I took these in the clean room where there are only 10 particles in one metrecube. the flash also light but teher are no dust. http://www.ug.bcc.bilkent.edu.tr/~zsahin/2004_07_27.zip |

Like I said, I already have an A70. And all thosemanual settings aren't worth much if I can't take pictures indoors without getting a lot of spots on my photos.
