it may sound silly to some of you, but please reply if you know.

When lets say you view a picture on the internet or in this forum, how do you get to see the EXIF info ? And what is EXIF alltogether?

FYI http://www.friedemann-schmidt.com/software/exifer/

Most pictures taken with a digicam are embedded with the exposure data along with several other camera/lens information. Theses parameters are stored in a special field called exif which is part of the jpeg format as well...;)

THANK YOU FOR THE INFO...! WILL TRY TO USE THESE SUGGESTIONS...

Most images posted to forums will have been processed beforehand and many times this will blank the EXIF information.

I've been noticing that, too. I would love to snoop the exif settings on web shots. I do know that in Photoshop, if you "Save for Web", it strips the EXIF info. I'm using a freeware program called "ExifReader" (how original). any better ones that will mine the info better?
