it may sound silly to some of you, but please reply if you know.
When lets say you view a picture on the internet or in this forum, how do you get to see the EXIF info ? And what is EXIF alltogether? |

FYI http://www.friedemann-schmidt.com/software/exifer/
Most pictures taken with a digicam are embedded with the exposure data along with several other camera/lens information. Theses parameters are stored in a special field called exif which is part of the jpeg format as well... ![]() http://www.exif.org/ |

Most images posted to forums will have been processed beforehand and many times this will blank the EXIF information.

I've been noticing that, too. I would love to snoop the exif settings on web shots. I do know that in Photoshop, if you "Save for Web", it strips the EXIF info. I'm using a freeware program called "ExifReader" (how original). any better ones that will mine the info better?
