Headed to Long Island next week, probably spend some time "downtown" as well. What do you folks recommend shooting? Anything that I should be sure not to miss?
Haven't ever been there with a camera so looking for any ideas. |

Lot's of great beaches, bay, ocean, and sound, a couple of lighthouses (you probably need to make reservations to go up in the tower), fishing piers, party and charter boats, parks, golf courses, and a wide variety of architecture (both old and modern). There is a lot of wildlife on LI, especially migratory birds this time of year. And there are still a few seals hanging around in the bays. You can hop on a ferry to Fire Island, or drive through the Hamptons. Maybe you're into museums. Always something to see and do. No need to talk about photo ops in the Big Apple - Ground Zero, Intrepid, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Bldg., Broadway, Times Square, bridges, tunnels, museums, etc.
Here's a couple of links to check out for LI: http://www.fireislandlighthouse.com/ http://www.montauklighthouse.com/home.htm http://www.nysparks.com/cgi-bin/cgiw...arks.cgi?p+113 http://www.captreefleet.com/ http://www.pagelinx.com/fififerry/index.shtml http://www.hamptonsweb.com/ http://www.d-vista.com/LIBP/limuseum.html Enjoy your visit! the Hun |
