Here is my problem, I currently have a Nikon coolpix 2100 and am happy with it, but being new to the digital camera world I was wondering whether I should have spent the extra $100 to get the 3100.
My main concern is: If my goal is a sharp smooth 4" x 6" or a 5"x7" picture will the 3 MP camera do a better job after the raw image is reduced (or resed up to 300dpi in photoshop) than the 2MP camera? thanks |

No, for 5x7, all 3mp will do is allow you to space to crop an image. For a 5x7 print, the finished picture will contain exactly the same number of pixels whether it was taken by a 2 or 3 mp camera and there is only a difference if you ever want 8x10 or larger.[/code]
