Default Anyone been able to burn .mpg files from digital cam to DVD?

I am enjoying using my new HP Photosmart 635 to keep up with our new 3 month old daughter. It seems that my wife's favourite usage is to take short videos with it rather than stills. I promised her that I was going to try to burn the videos (.mpg) to a DVD so that she could pop them in the DVD player and bore friends with them any time. I am having a heck of a time doing this though.

This camera captures video with sound at 24 fps, 320x240. I have been using Stoik Video Converter to try and get them into Pinnacle Studio 8 editing software to try to write to DVD, but I keep getting this "non-standard frame rate" error ... "cannot save in mpeg format".

Has anyone ever burned a DVD with these .mpg files from a digital camera that doesn't match the standard 30 fps rate?
