Greetings,

I'm considering both cameras, and was curious to hear from owners who have usedthe A70/75 and/or 3700. 99% of my use will be "point and shoot,"sothe scene modes are amandatory feature, which both seem to have. Not that alone, but both come from highly respected manufacturers. I had considered a slightly higher end camera (Canon S45 or Coolpix 4300), but I simply don't need all of the manual controls or higher resolution, so I see no reason to spend the extra money.

Some issues I've read about with each camera are:

Canon - Purple fringing, sluggish operation, "soft" pictures, confused autofocus

Nikon - Sharp pictures (too sharp?),no manual features, no ISO control

Witha $100 rebate on the 3700, both cameras are at the same price, give or take a few bucks.......I would imagine they both have good lenses, so which camera operates best in the point and shoot mode, and which, in your opinion, takes the most realistic pictures?

Thanks!
